A guided tour with a specialist will show you the distillation installation, explain the process, the different appellation as Grande & Petite Champagne and then finish by a commented tasting of various old and aged Cognac. Objective of this tour : To allow the cognac lovers from all over the world to taste and learn about Cognac. You will visit some of the most famous Maisons de Cognac. You will learn about the main Cognac appellations, blend variety, terroir and taste old Cognac XO, VSOP ...

Note : Visits are not private & only by special arrangement. Chateaux & schedule depend on availabilities. We can only confirm visited properties after your payment and a definitive itinerary will be sent to you before your arrival. Usually a tour with tasting takes around 1h/1h30 and they propose 2 spirits from the estate.



Starting in the 17th Century, Cognac was transformed in eau-de-vie (literally, "water of life") and improved by ageing in oak casks.

Cognac is exported to over 150 countries, it is a synonym of great quality, a symbol of France, luxury and lifestyle.

Ageing Designations
- V.S. (Very Special) Cognac youngest eau-de-vie is at least two years old.
- V.S.O.P. (Very Superior Old Pale) or Reserve at least four years old.
- Napoléon, X.O (Extra Old) or Hors d'âge. Cognac youngest eau-de-vie is at least six years old.

Generally speaking, Cognac Master Blenders use eaux-de-vie that are much older than the minimum requirement for their blends. In fact, the most prestigious designations may have aged for dozens of years in oak casks and sometimes more than 100yo.
